Briänna McField, 2013 Valedictorian of Yazoo County High School, an alumna of Millsaps College and a current doctoral student at Jackson State University seeking her doctorate in Public Health: Health Policy and Administration, proves beauty queens are more than pretty faces. A strong advocate for education and the uplift of women, her platform is “Realizing the Queen Within: Enter into Your Queendom”. Through this platform, Brianna has promoted women's empowerment and education about public health and social justice topics including heart disease, sex trafficking, autism awareness, and financial literacy just to name a few. Brianna's professional career goals include serving in the field of Public Health with later plans to possibly join the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, which would afford her possible eligibility to serve under the auspice of United States Surgeon General. Her additional career goal is to continue offering supreme service in the vineyard of the Lord as she serves as a minister to His people.
Brianna will go on to represent the state of Mississippi in the 2022 Miss Black USA Scholarship Pageant, August 4-8, 2022 in the nation's capital, Washington, D.C. for the chance to earn a $5,000 academic scholarship, a trip to Africa, shoe wardrobe by Liliana Shoes, ORS Olive Oil Hair products, and serve as a celebrity advocate for the Heart Truth campaign to raise awareness of heart disease, the leading cause of death of women in the U.S.
Miss Black USA is the nation's premier pageant for women of color. The non-profit organization, headquartered in the state of Maryland, has awarded over $500,000 in scholarships to its participants to date. The Miss Black USA™ Organization empowers women to use their voice, own their power, and redefine what it means to be a compassionate, confident, and beautiful Black woman today.
