Mr. and Mrs. Robin McCoy of Yazoo City, MS, announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Laura Shelby Soyars, who is also the daughter of the late William Soyars, to Dalton Simmons Burton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Burton os Bentonia, MS.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Miley Puckett of Pearl, MS, and Mrs. Nancy Soyars and the late James Soyars of McComb, MS.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. Jerry Burton and the late Linda Burton of Bentonia, MS, and Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Myers of Yazoo City, and Ms. Peggy Tisdale Cole of Jackson, MS.
Ms. Soyars is a 2012 honor graduate of Benton Academy. She is a graduate of Holmes Community College where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and a graduate of Mississippi State University where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and received a bachelor's degree in Interior Design. She is employed at Magnolia Lighting as an Interior Designer.
Mr. Burton is a 2013 graduate of Benton Academy. He is also a graduate of Holmes Community College and attended Mississippi State University. He is employed by Triangle Chemical Company.
Wedding vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2019, at Bridlewood of Madison.
