Mr. and Mrs. Jeptha Fowlkes Barbour, IV of Ridgeland, Mississippi announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine LeFlore Barbour, to Conrad Gale Lucas, II the son of Mrs. Conrad Gale Lucas and the late Conrad “Jody” Lucas of Huntington, West Virginia.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeptha Fowlkes Barbour, III of Yazoo City, Mississippi and Mr. Noel Webster Guthrie, junior and the late Suzanne Fox Guthrie of Jackson, Mississippi. The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald Davis Lucas of Ranger, West Virginia and the late Mr. and Mrs. Luther Glescoe Stollings of Harts, West Virginia.
Miss Barbour graduated from Jackson Preparatory School in 2007. She attended Millsaps College her freshman year and joined Chi Omega Sorority. Miss Barbour continued her studies at the University of Mississippi, and she graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing. Miss Barbour was presented by the Southern Debutante Assembly in 2008. Following college, Barbour worked in Washington, D.C. as a scheduler for Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus and RNC Co-Chairman Sharon Day. More recently, she served as finance director for Congressman Evan Jenkins’ 2016 Congressional Race and currently, she is a strategic partner with Direct Edge Campaigns.
Lucas is a 1999 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. He attended Vanderbilt University where he was president of Lamba Chi Fraternity. Lucas earned his bachelors in Human & Organization Development and History from Vanderbilt in 2003. Following undergrad, Mr. Lucas served as an aide to Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito, and he then received a master’s degree from Harvard University in Education Policy and Management. Mr. Lucas also received his doctorate in Education from Vanderbilt University, and a law degree from Tulane University. While attending Tulane Law School, Mr. Lucas served as a Senior Moot Court Justice and earned a certificate in environmental law. He is the current Chairman of the West Virginia Republican Party and an attorney with Capitol Resources, LLC.
The couple will exchange vows July 29th at St. George’s Episcopal Church in New Orleans, Louisiana.
A reception will follow at the Windsor Court Hotel.
