The Yazoo Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution members celebrated Women's History Month by donating money to Ricks Memorial Library for the purchase of the following books: Children category Rose Revere- Engineer by Andrea Beaty and The Baseball Adventure of Jackie Mitchell-Girl Pitcher vs. Babe Ruth by Jean L. S. Patrick, Teen or Adult category Headstrong by Rachel Swaby and When Everything Changed by Gail Collins, Adult category The Fire Brand and the First Lady by Patricia Bell-Scott, Women of Colonial America by Brandon Marie Miller and Heroines of Mercy Street by Pamela Toler.
Yazoo Chapter member Montine Bond donated the book An Intimate Portrait of the First Lady Laura Bush by Ronald Kessler.
In 1987 the U.S. Congress designated March as National Women's History Month. This year's project was "Our History is our Strength; Writing Women Back into History.”
