Dear Editor,
There are two people who have been featured in your newspaper lately that I have met and am grateful for having done so: John Ellzey and Walker Smith.
Every time I went to Ricks Library, John would graciously assist me with expert precision. Upon leaving, he would hug me and tell me to hold my purse closer to my body, ever looking out for others. Yazoo City had the best reference librarian in the state, maybe in the country.
Walker Smith is a volunteer fireman who help when my home was demolished in the 2010 tornado. Though there wasn’t much to salvage, he helped to load what little there was and transport it to storage.
These two people both exemplify the willingness to help others, and I appreciate them.
Sincerely,
Helen Luby
