Larry Summers Career and Technical Center was filled with energy and excitement on October 10, 2025, as tenth through twelfth grade students participated in the annual College Fair 2025. The event brought together college and university representatives from across Mississippi, along with the Mississippi National Guard, to share information and opportunities with students preparing for life after high school.
Throughout the morning, students explored a wide range of post secondary options, learning about academic programs, scholarships, and career pathways. Representatives from both two-year and four-year institutions were on hand to answer questions and provide guidance on admissions and financial aid. The Mississippi National Guard also offered students insight into how military service can support educational and career goals.
Students eagerly visited each table, gathering brochures, completing interest forms, and engaging in meaningful conversations about their futures. Many left feeling more confident and motivated to take the next steps toward achieving their goals.
“It was great seeing so many schools in one place,” one senior shared. “I learned about programs I didn’t even know existed.”
Mrs. Yolanda Strong, Director of Larry Summers Career and Technical Center, expressed her pride in the event’s success.
“Our goal is to make sure students are aware of the many opportunities available to them after high school. Events like this help them see that success can look many different ways,” said Strong.
The College Fair supports the center’s ongoing mission of preparing students for college, careers, and life beyond graduation through exploration, education, and experience.
