It is time to celebrate one of Yazoo County’s icons with the Kenneth Gainwell Superbowl Parade next month.
The parade to honor Gainwell’s pivotal role in the Philadelphia Eagles’ Superbowl LIX victory will take place on Thursday, July 3, at 4 p.m. in Benton.
The parade’s lineup will begin at Benton Academy, located at 216 Academy Drive, in Benton. Entries may be floats, antique vehicles, automobiles, marching bands and more.
There will also be no entry fees. The deadline to submit entries will be Tuesday, July 1. Completed forms may be mailed to the Yazoo County CVB, P.O. Box 186, Yazoo City, MS 39194; or may be dropped off at the CVB office, located at 110 N. Jerry Clower Blvd. in Yazoo City, housed next door to AT&T.
The Yazoo County CVB asks that all minors be supervised by an adult at all times during the parade. Entries throwing candy must put the candy in a Ziploc bag and throw as far into the crowd as possible to ensure the safety of all participants and spectators.
