Yazoo City's Johnson participates in MS/AL All-Star Game

This past Saturday, Yazoo City High School senior E’kemii Johnson participated in the Annual Mississippi Association of Coaches Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game, featuring the top 12 seniors from each state. The game was played at The Mitchell Center on the campus of the University of South Alabama.

Hoops season ends for City, County

The Yazoo City Lady Indians quest for a Class 5A State title ended in the quarterfinal round last week at Mississippi Valley State University with a 48-31 loss to the Pontotoc Lady Warriors.

The loss ends Yazoo City’s season at 19-12.

The Yazoo County Lady Panthers had a busy week last week picking up three wins, culminating with a 52-16 victory Saturday over Warren Central in Yazoo City High’s 3rd Annual Queens for King Classic.
Seniors Kamillia Jones and Jakayla Eashington led the way for the Lady Panthers with 18 and 10 points respectively.
