King of the Campus: Yazoo native elected first homecoming king at Ole Miss

Yazoo City native Carl Tart has sometimes felt like he’s been treated like a king on the campus of the University of Mississippi.

Now it’s official.

Tart, a senior majoring in Allied Health Studies, was recently elected the first homecoming king at Ole Miss. Tart received 57.5 percent of the vote in the historic election.

Anderson withdraws from District 2 supervisor race

The District 2 Supervisor race is now down to three candidates.

W.F. “Bill” Anderson withdrew from the race this week, according to Circuit Clerk Robert Coleman.

Anderson is the second independent candidate to drop out of the race. Nate VanCleave withdrew a week earlier.
