Board made the right choice for police chief

Yazoo City's Board of Aldermen made an excellent choice in hiring Jay Winstead to serve as chief of police.
Mayor Diane Delaware cast the sole vote against hiring Winstead, but I believe she will also soon be singing his praises if he continues the course he has been on since being named interim chief.

Ward 3 Alderman Sir Johnathan Rucker said he's seen a lot of properties around the city with tall grass and litter, but he's almost embarrassed to ask them to take care of the problem when the city is struggling to keep its own grass cut and roadsides clean.
