Joseph Head, longtime chief deputy of the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, has been named interim chief of the Yazoo City Police Department.
The veteran law enforcement officer, who has served as chief deputy since 2012, accepted the position Friday. A native of Holmes County, Head began his career in law enforcement in 1992.
