The Yazoo City Indians improved to 3-0 on the season with a 75-56 victory over the Provine Rams in the Raymond Ranger Invitational this past Saturday.
The Lady Indians weren’t as lucky, falling to 1-2 after a 52-34 loss to Jackson Academy.
Both teams were coming off a pair of victories over Warren Central and a split at Callaway which saw the Indians victorious.
Against Provine, Travis Jones led the way with a game-high 27 points. Jacorion Taylor scored 17, and Keiron Davis rounded out the double figure scorers with 14.
E’ziren Collum had eight, Robert Huffman had four, Rickal Session had three and Chris Gates had two.
Freshman Kimora Young led the Lady INdians in scoring with 11 points.
Lakyra Bankhead added eight, Malia Mcpherson six, Makenzie Johnson five, and Jamya McCoy and Jer’Mya Porter each had two.
