On Sunday the Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 206 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 10 new deaths. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 13,458, with 635 deaths.
There are currently 421 Mississippians hospitalized with COVID-19 infections.
A total of 23 of the new cases reported today were among residents in long-term care facilities, and there are now 118 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff).
Yazoo County currently has 215 reported cases of COVID-19 and two deaths. One of those deaths was an inmate at the federal prison. Around 50 cases in Yazoo County are federal inmates and staff members.
The state is reporting 10 cases in Yazoo County within long term care facilities. The state does not provide details on the location of those cases.
