A rash of burglaries and car thefts came to a close this week with three juveniles in custody thanks to the diligent work of the Yazoo City Police Department.
The three juveniles are currently being held at the local juvenile detention center, said Chief Jay Winstead. Their charges will range from commercial burglary to grand larceny following a series of business burglaries and car thefts throughout the week.
"These crimes began Monday, and through the diligent work of our officers, we were able to track down the suspects in these cases within a few days," Winstead said. "Beginning Monday, these suspects began a rash of six felonies, which we were able to close by Thursday. This is what happens when officers invest in their jobs and finish through with their investigations. You can't help but see results, and I am proud of their hard work."
Winstead said Sgt. Artis Harris and Capt. William Nevels were instrumental in pursuing these cases.
More details will appear in the next edition of The Yazoo Herald.
