The Yazoo Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution held its January 12, 2022, meeting virtually with the Betsy Love Allen Chapter in Rolling Fork and Iklana Chapter in Belzoni.
The program was presented by the MSSDAR State Regent, Hellen Hicks Polk. She spoke on her three-year project for Rosalie, the MSSDAR Headquarters.
The project included creating pollinator gardens, which would eventually becoming a designated bird sanctuary and repairing brick walkways.
Polk said that the 72 Mississippi DAR Chapters now have a total membership of 3,300. These DAR members donate their time and talents for the people in their communities and country in the areas of education, patriotism and historic preservation.
