Yazoo City police officers arrested an escaped convict from Louisiana Thursday after receiving a tip from a resident that he was acting suspicious.
Officers Desi Parker and Mylan Smith originally responded an unrelated call about two men dressed in black pacing around the Double Quick store on Jerry Clower Boulevard. They were unable to locate those two men, but while they were patrolling the area a resident gave them a tip about another man.
That individual turned out to be Krisean Salinas, who was wanted for escape in Louisiana. Salinas was arrested and is awaiting extradition back to Louisiana. Salinas was one of eight inmates who escaped from a Louisiana jail. All eight have since been arrested.
Salinas, 21, was charged with aggravated flight, theft, reckless operation and other charges in 2025. At the time of that arrest, he also had warrants for his arrest in three other Louisiana parishes.
