Flowers wins Republican primary runoff in Yazoo, state

Within Yazoo County and the state overall, Brian Flowers won the Republican primary runoff for the U.S. House District 2 seat.
Flowers will now face incumbent Bennie Thompson, who proved victorious in the Democrat primary in early June.

Thompson carries Yazoo County in primary election

Within Yazoo County and the state overall, incumbent Bennie Thompson proved victorious in the Democrat primary for the U.S. House District 2 seat.
As of press time, within Yazoo County, Thompson earned 1,102 votes in comparison to his party opponent Jerry Kerner’s 50 votes.
