Derrick Rucker, 49, passed away on Jan. 8, 2026.
Funeral services were held on Jan. 17 at Century Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Latiker officiating.
Derrick was born to the late Barbara Jean Rucker Allen and Leanard Banks. He attended the Yazoo City Public School System and accepted Christ at an early age at Rose Hill M.B. Church.
He leaves behind a cherished legacy and the promise of God’s glory through his beloved son, Jaysen Rucker, whom he loved deeply. He was raised alongside his siblings, Mckesha Holmes (Richard), Teresa Winters (Willie), Yvonne Johnson (Kevin), Yvette Allen (Marnell) and Jimmy Allen. He also leaves behind a host of loving nieces and nephews.
