A family dispute between two brothers in Yazoo County led to a shooting arrest with the victim remaining in serious but stable condition as of press time.
Sheriff Jeremy McCoy said the shooting incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. Monday at 518 Graball Freerun Road. He said Michael Douglas has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
“It was a domestic dispute that turned violent,” said McCoy, adding that his department has responded to the same address on other occasions in the past. “We continue to investigate this incident, believing that there are more things to uncover in this case.”
McCoy said deputies discovered that the two males involved in the incident are brothers.
“The victim is in serious but stable condition,” McCoy said. “There were no other injuries reported at the scene.”
Douglas was quickly apprehended by deputies and remained in the Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility as of press time.
