Four suspects were put behind bars after they were caught burglarizing a storage shed with drugs found inside their nearby getaway car.
Terry Shepherd, Brittany Shepherd, Randall Ball and Matthew Salter were all charged with possession of methamphetamine and burglary of an unoccupied dwelling.
Terry Gann, chief deputy with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said their arrests followed a report from a property overseer who caught the group breaking into a storage shed in the Graball area.
“They were breaking into a shed behind a house to steal some tools inside,” Gann said. “One suspect fled into the woods. But once we arrived on the scene, we were able to find and apprehend him.”
Gann said upon searching the vehicle the group arrived in, methamphetamine was also found inside.
• In other county arrests, Derrick Booker was charged with possession of cocaine.
Gann said deputies were serving an attempted murder indictment on Booker in Yazoo City when they discovered cocaine in his pocket. As of press time, Booker remained at the Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility.
