Shooting marks Yazoo’s first murder of the new year

A Yazoo City man was shot and killed last Saturday in the community’s first homicide of the new year.
Cornelius Stuckey, 33, of Grady Avenue, was pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds by an emergency room doctor at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Yazoo at 1:05 p.m. Saturday, according to Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers.

Two men charged with Saturday murder

A 33-year-old man has died after being shot on Saturday around noon.

Cornelius Stuckey died at the hospital after being transported by ambulance from Longwood Cove. Deputies with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department began emergency medical procedures until an ambulance arrived.

Vagrants pose fire hazards as winter continues
