We are a few days away from the mid-term elections, and I want to ask a question. Do you believe that there is going to be a “blue wave?” Will the Democrat Party take back the U. S. Senate and the House of Representatives? For months, the “fake news” has told us that the Democrats were charged up and ready to go to the polls and vote against everything that President Trump wants.
Not only that, but Nancy Pelosi is feeling very confident that she will become the new Speaker of the House in January. She points out that “subpoenas are a good thing to have in the quiver” meaning that “we will investigate Trump until we find grounds to impeach him.”
Now I am not a Nostradamus, but I do have some common sense. For the life of me, I cannot see a “blue wave.” What is most important other than the “impeach Trump mantra” is the fact that the Democrat Party has no ideas that appeal to the American electorate. They want to “improve” Obamacare, but that idea is not universally loved. They want to give Medicare to everyone, and of course this would bankrupt the country and turn senior citizens on Social Security against the Democrat Party - perhaps forever. They are openly advocating taking back the Trump tax cuts, and you know that this is a winner.
They want to impose crippling regulations on small businesses so that they will be unable to grow and hire workers. They are for open borders. They want to grow government so large that you and I are dependent on government for our every need. Most Americans who understand economics know that this is not what a vibrant economy needs.
So after assuring all of us that a “blue wave” is coming, the “fake news” is beginning to walk this narrative back. Now they are not so sure. They think that the Republicans may hold the Senate, but the House is definitely going to the Democrats - maybe, perhaps, it’s possible. Where is all of that July and August confidence?
Now it’s time for the rubber to meet the road, and things are beginning to change at Democrat Headquarters. But Democrats are still looking for that magic bullet to knock the Republicans off, and take back the Senate and House which they erroneously believe belongs exclusively to them. Their new attack is to claim that the Republicans are using “fear” to convince the American people to vote for them. “Fear” is a good word because it tends to focus the mind - especially if one is indeed fearful of harm. Fear is a natural instinct that helps all of us survive dangerous situations, and I must admit that I am scared to death.
I fear that Nancy Pelosi will become Speaker of the House and begin her charge to destroy this country as founded. She hates Trump, and rest assured that she will lead the charge to have him removed from office. Every committee in the House will begin to investigate the President and his administration bringing what is an economic boom to an abrupt end.
Should the Senate fall to Democrats, I fear that Trump has confirmed his last federal judge. If you think Brett Kavanaugh had a tough time, future appointments to the judiciary will make his confirmation look like a Sunday School ice cream party. They will be brutal designed to destroy the man or woman Trump appoints, and for the next two years, nothing will be done by the Democrats much to the detriment of America.
I fear that taxes will be raised. The first thing that the Democrats in Congress will do is raise taxes. They want their “crumbs” back. They will then destroy Medicare, a plan set up for retired senior citizens who are retired on Social Security.
I fear that our borders will be flung open, and every drug pusher, criminal, terrorists, and MS-13 members will simply walk in and begin to destroy not just our culture, but our very way of life. Yes, everyone reading this column has the right to have fear in their hearts because if the Republicans lose this election, the Democrat Party will destroy everything that the President has done in the last two years to get this country back on track. All that stands between chaos and the hard working citizens of America is Donald Trump, and for all of us, I hope that this is enough.
