Getting reliable news in today’s world is a difficult proposition. One never knows what is news and what is opinion. Hard news stories are flavored with opinion, and most of this opinion is replete with a liberal bias.
If you subscribe to the Clarion-Ledger, you receive in your morning delivery an added treat - a copy of USA Today. If you think that this newspaper is relating news to you, let me assure you that it is not. Everything that is printed is slanted to the far-left ideology - everything. If you are a liberal or a "progressive," you no doubt think that this newspaper is world class. You are wrong, of course, and a little critical thinking will put you back on track.
Last week, I picked up my paper and turned to USA Today. I went to te business section to see how they had covered the recent report from the government on jobs added in June. According to the Department of Labor, 255,000 new jobs were added in June, and according to the attached graph, another 233,000 is projected for July.
Remember what happened in May. There were only 29,000 new jobs added to the economy. When the economy which is expanding at a 1.2 percent annual rate, goes from 29,000 to more than 255,000 in less than a month, something has changed. Is the economy growing at a faster pace? No. There is no indication that we have hit a growth period. Are employers hiring? Is there more demand for consumer products? No, the economy is still in the slowest recovery since 1949. So what happened? The Democrat Convention happened, and the "Crooked One" is running on Obama’s economic record. The Democrats must trick you into thinking everything is right with the world and that the economy is set for a boom period. USA Today is more than happy to tell you that Obama is the smartest economist in America and that his policies are now taking effect, just the way he planned it. Someone needs to tell you that the Obama economy has destroyed a huge part of our economic strength, and unless there is radical change, the USA could devolve into a Cuba or Argentina. Think about that with Hillary at the controls. My conclusion, therefore, is to believe that the employment numbers have been doctored by the Obama Department of Labor.
"Crooked Hillary" lied again on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace. She claimed that the FBI cleared her of all wrong doing related to her server and e-mails. Her response to Wallace was absurd and demonstrated conclusively that this woman is a pathological liar. But did USA Today point that out? Not a peep.
Obama paid a $400,000 million ransom to Iran for 4 hostages. I was sure that there would be a blurb in one isolated corner of the paper about the fact that the USA does not pay a ransom for hostages. In fact, it is illegal to do so. I searched and searched, but my search was in vain.
I did read this headline: Trump admits mistake in description of Iran video. Big deal. I saw the same picture that Trump referred to and I thought that it may have been something the Iranians published in order to achieve a propaganda victory. Who really cares? Only progressives trying to destroy Donald Trump and trying to influence the outcome of a presidential race care.
USA Today is a propaganda rag totally devoted to "all Hillary all the time." To them, Trump is an idiot, a Nazi, a mean man, a liar with a truly bad temperament, crazy, and a man destroying the Republican Party. Now these are Democrats. Why shouldn’t they be applauding Trump if he is doing something for which they passionately desire?
In today’s world, we must search multiple sources for accurate news. This is unfortunate, but after years of brainwashing the American public with slanted and irresponsible news reporting, we might be coming to the end of an era. Trump is right now swimming up stream, but if he can pull this thing off, we just might see better reporting which means a better America. Trump has the ability and charisma to control the news cycle. Remember, ignorance is not bliss. You would not know this by reading USA Today. That is why leftists love it.
