We live in the greatest country ever invented by man. For most of recorded history, unless you were kin to the King or Queen, you lived as a serf or as a slave. Your circumstances were never going to change.
The Constitution of the United States guarantees Americans certain rights, among them life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Today, we are the most free people on earth. Even the most down-trodden among us has guaranteed rights, and our free enterprise system allows all of us to be all that we can be. Our economy has helped make us the greatest superpower in history.
But there are some things that I do not understand that are happening in America today. We have liberals and progressives openly saying that this country was founded unjustly. The Constitution is a flawed instrument and should be relegated to the dust bin of history. Capitalism does not work, and humans are fouling the planet. For the life of me, I cannot understand this type of thinking.
The Democrat Party has purposely divided this country into opposing groups for the purpose of securing votes and power. As Donald Trump has so articulately stated, the Democrats have been promising upward mobility to African-Americans for years, yet nothing ever seems to happen. The only thing that happens is that more and more African-Americans are out of work and their standard of living continues to fall. Yes, the Democrats will provide a subsistence living in the form of welfare, but for 50 years, with all of these promises made by the Democrats, nothing has happened to improve the plight of many African-Americans and provide opportunities for their children. This is a shame because in each presidential election, the Democrats get at least 90 percent of the African-American vote. I do not understand this.
Colin Kaepernick is a multi-millionaire, all made possible by this great country. Kaepernick is a third string quarterback for the San Francisco 49'ers. Last week, he refused to stand for the playing of the national anthem. Here is a multi-millionaire claiming that he will not stand for the national anthem because this country discriminates against African-Americans. I don’t understand this. Kaepernick is African-American. He is set for life whether or not he ever plays another down of football all because of the opportunities this country has provided.
Of course, the Democrat Party does its best to divide the country. We are a stronger country when we are working together as Americans, yet the Democrats and Hillary Clinton continue to pit women against men, capitalism against socialism, welfare against employment, big business against government, Main street against Wall Street and man against religion. The Christian faith is under attack by our own countrymen. People of faith are made fun of, and abortion is promoted as a "right." Muslims are pouring into this country at an alarming rate, and they have no intention of adopting our traditions, values and culture. Hillary plans to increase the number of Muslim immigrants from Syria by 550 percent. I just don’t understand this.
Our large cities have become war zones. August was the most violent month in Chicago in 20 years. Still, nothing of significance is being done. Those in power seem to ignore it. For the life of me, I do not understand this.
Obama, who hates the Constitution of the United States with a passion, has decided to ratify the Paris Climate Control Treaty despite explicit language in the Constitution that demands that the Senate must ratify any and all treaties. In my judgement, impeachment procedures should be begun immediately to slow down this lawless president and his lust for power - and an inflated legacy.
I do not understand why a South Carolina town has decreed that the American flag not be flown at football games. The last time I checked, this was still America and we have a flag, one that has been fought and died over for the past 230 years. What are we becoming and can we survive with the type of "politically correct" incompetence that now leads this nation? Unless major changes are made soon, I believe that you, the American citizen, can "color us gone" as the nation we once knew and loved.
