It is one of the richest places in the world, yet its citizens are without an adequate food supply.
All of its wealth cannot purchase medical supplies or ensure reliable medical services to its citizens. Its economy is in shambles, yet no one seems to be able to correct the downward spiral. There is unrest in the streets, yet no one seems to be able to quiet the protests. It has one of the highest murder rates on the continent, and crime of all types continue to escalate.
No, I’m not talking about Chicago or San Francisco, Los Angeles or even New York - even though these places have massive problems. I’m talking about Venezuela.
This country has almost unlimited oil resources, yet the citizens of this South American country suffer at the hands of Nicolas Maduro, a socialist dictator - the successor to Hugo Chavez. Chavez nationalized the oil companies, and took over all of the private businesses. Today, it is difficult to purchase a loaf of bread, thanks to socialism.
Should the socialist eventually take over America as they are bent on doing, the once great United States of America will, in short order, become a Venezuela with hungry and sick citizens and an economy that supports only those in power. As difficult as it may be to believe, the modern-day national Democrat Party is the very seat of socialism, big government, and economic suicide.
President Trump has thrown the Democrat Party into a tailspin from which it may be difficult - perhaps impossible, to recover. In my lifetime, I have never witnessed a more radical leftist number of socialists in the House and Senate. None of these people are able to connect with the common man and woman, yet, they claim to be "the working man’s party." Nothing could be farther from the truth.
Think about the last eight years. What happened to our economy? What happened to employment? What happened to the welfare rolls? Under the leadership of Barack Obama, our economy went into a sharp decline. Our Gross National Product (GNP) grew at just over 1 percent, and factory after factory closed.
In Mississippi, one could drive through any town and find "Mom and Pop" businesses boarded up, unable to go on because of a lack of a growing economy. Men and women all over the country looked for jobs. Obamacare made it almost impossible for a business with 50 employees or less to hire new workers. As a result, our welfare rolls doubled, and many people resigned themselves to the idea that America’s best days were now history.
People who were not citizens of this country were allowed to walk across the border and secure many of the services denied to American citizens. Health care was offered at little or no charge, housing was made available, food stamps were provided, and if a female gave birth to a child while on American soil, that child was an "anchor baby" with all of the rights and privileges of children born to citizens.
Illegal immigration was out of control, and not only were American jobs being taken by illegal aliens, the American culture itself was under attack. The Democrat Party loved this. They saw illegals as potential voters and ignored the fact that our culture, the American culture that had endured since our country’s founding was being assaulted in the most fundamental ways.
But President Trump came along and upset the Democrat "apple cart." Americans demanded change from the total disaster that the Democrat Party had brought. Trump had a message to Americans that resonated, one that was easily understood, and one with which a majority of the country agreed.
Today, the Democrat Party, the most corrupt political party in the history of the United States, has unveiled a new strategy. The new slogan is "A Better Deal." Guess what? These socialist want (1) better jobs, (2) better wages, and (3) a better future. This is amazing, The smartest people in the Democrat Party came up with these far-reaching and profound goals. No one has ever thought of these goals.... wait! Isn’t this what is being implemented by President Trump even as we speak? If the Democrat Party were serious about these goals, they would have done the necessary work to implement them rather that let 94,000,000 jobless Americans wonder if jobs were ever going to return to this country. As usual, the Democrats are a little late coming to the party, and you can bet the farm that they aren’t bringing dates.
They can’t afford the gas.
