Can you believe that it is the end of February already?
It seems impossible, yet time moves on with ever increasing speed, so fast, in fact that most of us don’t have time, or take time, to enjoy the present.
It seems like only last week that we were having a presidential election, yet almost four years have hurried past. Donald Trump will become the Republican presidential candidate later this year, but who will the Democrats nominate?
Who is your favorite? Do you support Bernie? Klobuchar? Pocohontas? Mayor Pete? Or the new kid on the block, Michael Bloomberg?
Which one of these Democratic stars has the “where with all” to take out President Trump? This is a difficult question to answer since I believe that the movers and shakers in the party want none of them. “Crazy” Bernie is a progressive/communist who appeals to a small, vocal group of the electorate. There are not enough votes in this group to propel the “Crazy”One to victory. Bernie hates capitalism, freedom, self-determination, and the U. S. Constitution. Mayor Pete, the first gay candidate for president, is beginning to have trouble with Democratic voters who are fundamentalist Christians, many of whom never knew that Mayor Pete was gay because this fact was never mentioned by the mainstream press.
Amy Klobuchar rose to number three in the New Hampshire primary, but once her radical views, and her treatment of others whom she feels are beneath her, come to light, her star will more than likely dim.
Joe Biden is a “dead candidate walking,” so that leaves whom? The new kid on the block, that’s who. Multi-billionaire Bloomberg has jumped into this race because he feels that he has the charisma, the political smarts, and most of all, the money to unseat President Trump.
Bloomberg says that he is willing to spend a billion dollars to unseat Trump. If you have been watching TV, you have seen many Bloomberg advertisements, all featuring the fact that “Mike will get it done.”
Well, let’s see. “Mini Mike” was the mayor of New York City. He instituted some common sense police strategies in order to reduce the crime rate in New York. Stop and frisk was one of his trade mark strategies. Now he is flip-flopping like a fish out of water. He clams to have a new insight on how hurtful this strategy was to the “minority” community. It reduced crime and saved lives, but now, “Mini-Mike” thinks that it was all wrong.
The “Mini-One” feels that he is intellectually superior to those of us in “fly-over” country. He has no idea what a farmer does. He made a speech recently where he claimed to teach a person how to farm in five minutes. “Get some seed, plant the seed in the ground, water the seed, and that’s it.” Does “Mini Mike” not understand that there are universities that specialize in teaching agriculture? Apparently he either does not know this or he doesn’t care. While American farmers make up only a little over two percent of the population, they supply the world with food and essential agricultural products. This clueless New Yorker openly confesses that it takes more “gray matter” to operate a computer that it does to plant seeds in the ground. “When ignorance is bliss, tis foolish to be wise.” What will Mr. Trump do with this “hanging curve ball?”
Hollywood loves “Mini Mike.” They think that he can unseat President Trump. But the “Mini One” is an opponent of the second amendment. His belief is that no one should own a gun - not even for self-defense. When President Trump settles in on this subject, how do you think Mike Bloomberg will do? Can he convince those of us who believe in the Second Amendment that we have been wrong all along? To top this off, he wants to nominate Hillary Clinton as his vice-presidential running mate. Does Mini Mike” sound like a winner to you?
