Michael Aiden Collins recently graduated from Pearl High School with distinction on May 15, 2025.
He is the son of Kalynn Collins Woods, and the grandson of Ginny Lou McCoy Hobby, Clifton G. Collins, III, and JoAnne Collins. He is the great grandson of tthe late Bo Collins, and nephew of Lyndall Lee McCoy Moore and Kathleen Collins Olivieri. The rest of the proud family members are his brothers Hayden and Kason, Aunt JoAnna, Uncle Ben, Cousins Ann Marie, Kelly and Rachel, Brenner Woods, Father, Mike Hobby, Grandfather and Robbie Collins, Grandmother and Uncle Ralph Olivieri.
Michael enters this new chapter of his life with courage, honor and the unwavering support of his family and church family. His journey is a testament to hard work, resilience, faith, and the power of a loving community.
He has Earned Gold Cords in recognition of outstanding academic performance. He achieved Gold Work Keys for exemplary workplace skills. He has also received a Military Commitment Coin for dedication to future service. He was chosen Pirate of the Month multiple times through his junior high and high school years by various teachers.
Michael has been involved in a variety of athletics since the age of five, such as track and field, cross country, and archery. But his greatest love is soccer, where he received the Jaron Rawls Award for resilience and dedication on and off the field. Through his soccer journey, he demonstrated leadership and developed foundational skills which allowed him to compete in Junior High and High School Varsity soccer.
Michael has chosen a career path committing to serve in the United States Coast Guard, aiming to become part of the elite Search and Rescue team. The skills acquired along with determination and leadership have laid a foundation for such a commitment.
Through his faith and dedication to serve Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior drives his desire to serve others and his country.
