Ten city leadership and department head positions were brought to the table for annual reappointments during Monday’s city council meeting.
Six positions were reappointed during the recent Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting with four other posts being tabled for 30 days.
The positions that were tabled for 30 days include:
• The city clerk position, currently held by Kaneilia Williams
• The building inspector position, currently held by Richard Patterson
• The board attorney position, currently held by Lilli Evans-Bass
• The police chief position, currently held by Terry Gann
The positions that were reappointed include:
• The fire chief position, currently held by Ricky Harris; reappointed on a 3-2 vote with Alderman Charlie Jenkins and Alderwoman Elizabeth Thomas in opposition
• The cemetery sexton position, currently held by Prentice Young; reappointed with unanimous vote
The public works director position, currently held by Robert Green; reappointed with unanimous vote
The public defender position, currently held by Lisa Ross; reappointed with unanimous vote
The public prosecutor position, currently held by Eugene Carlos Tanner III; reappointed with unanimous vote
The municipal court judge position, currently held by Christopher Espy; reappointed with unanimous vote
