Mavericks soccer team gets a win against Porter's Chapel

After cooling off for a while and regrouping over the holiday break, the Manchester Maverick's Soccer team broke even on two recent games.

The Mavericks fell 3-0 to Park Place in what Coach Byron Kelly said was one of the best games his boys have played all season.

The Lady Raiders of Benton Academy are showing improvement on the court after competing in tournaments over the holiday break.

The Benton girls brought home two wins at the Canton Academy tournament after defeating Sharkey-Issaquena and Canton two weeks ago.

Lady Mavs crush St. Joe for a 2-0 start in district play

The Lady Mavericks of Manchester Academy are now 2-0 in district after defeating Greenville St. Joe on Tuesday with a score of 63-42.

This win brings the Manchester girls' record to 15-3 for the season.

Coach Emily Poe said the team had a good strategy in place before facing off against St. Joe this week.

Here's to a new decade
