The Manchester Academy Girls Soccer team was off to a slow start this year after falling 8-0 to East Rankin Academy earlier this season. Last week however, Coach Jacob Iles said the Lady Mavericks put up a good fight against Indianola Academy on Wednesday Aug. 7 before falling 2-1.

Lady Mavs improve to 6-0 with win over Central Hinds

The Lady Mavericks softball team is now 6-0 after defeating Central Hinds Academy 6-4 on Tuesday.

Coach Robert Black said that the Manchester girls fell behind 3-0 after two innings, but made a comeback by scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the third.

Lady Raiders chalk up another victory at St. Joe

The Benton Academy Lady Raiders continue to build on their successful softball season after defeating Greenville St. Joe 12-3 on Tuesday.

"We started off slowly offensively but our defense continued to be solid," said Coach Natalie Whitehead. "Our bats started getting hot in the 4th, scoring us 4 runs.”
