Both the Benton Academy Lady Raiders and Raiders were victorious last week with a pair of wins over Newton Academy.
The Lady Raiders posted a 57-30 win while the Raiders took a 20-point 63-43 victory.
Leading the way for the Lady Raiders was Brynn Blackstock with a game-high 26 points. She also had eight rebounds, five steals and two blocks in the win.
Other Lady Raider scorers were Sydnie Davis with eight, Audrie Horne and Emma Middleton with six points apiece, Leta Greco and Ava Grace Meeks with four apiece, Addy Cader with two and Perry Kate Kraft with one.
Horne and Meeks led BA on the boards with nine rebounds apiece and Greco had a team-high six steals.
In boy’s action, Tanner Vandevere and Ethan Shanks both registered a double-double in the victory.
Vandevere had 14 points, 13 rebounds and just narrowly missed a triple-double with seven steals. Shanks had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Clayton Saxton also reached double-digits with 10 points, followed by Aiden Arnold with nine, Riley Powell with eight, Peyton McGlawn with seven, and Gabe Irwin with three.
Benton returns to action December 29 and 30 in a Christmas Tournament at Canton Academy.
