It’s time to celebrate a successful hunting season while raising funds for a good cause.
The annual Yazoo County Wildlife Banquet will be held Saturday at the Benton Academy gym.
Doors open at 3:30 p.m. with a taster’s buffet hosted by Milner’s Deer Processing beginning at 4 p.m. A prime rib dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. while the Big Buck and Turkey contest awards are presented and the live auction is held. Auction items include hunting trip packages, hunting supplies, wildlife decor and more.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for children ages 4-8 and under and free for ages 3 and under.
The Yazoo County Wildlife Association has donated $100,881 to the Catch A Dream Foundation and $72,200 to Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital over the years. The group has also hosted benefits for individuals in the community facing medical issues, helped support flood and tornado relief, fed first responders, and sponsored a youth fishing rodeo.
Annual memberships can be purchased at the event.
