Today, Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced the sentencing of Corey Outland, 43, of Ridgeland, Mississippi, on one count of felony desertion for failing to pay over $31,500 in past-due child support. This case was investigated and prosecuted by the Mississippi Attorney General's Office, with assistance from the Madison County Sheriff's Department.
"Parents have a legal and moral obligation to provide for their children, and we will continue to hold those who fail to do so accountable," said Attorney General Lynn Fitch. "I am grateful for our AGO prosecutors and investigators and our law enforcement partners who are committed to ensuring that Mississippi's children receive the support they deserve."
On January 13, 2026, Madison County Circuit Court Judge M.
