Despite the recent rash of shootings and two homicides, police officials said statistics show that crime within Yazoo City has decreased from last year.
Opal Hilderbrand, 71, gained her wings on October 13, 2019.
Funeral services were Oct. 16 at Scott Memorial Chapel.
Allen Keith Johnson, 59, of Howard, South Dakota, died on October 18, 2019.
He was born to Paul and Sally Johnson on August 28, 1960.
Charles O. Nelson, 85, of Yazoo City, passed away Friday October 25, 2019 at Baptist Medical Center Yazoo.
The man who placed an enormous political sign near Yazoo City’s busiest intersection said he has removed the sign because it didn’t send the message he intended.
Roosevelt “Bo Sack” Stewart passed away Oct. 20, 2019.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019 at the L.T. Miller Community Center in Yazoo City at 1 p.m.
There will be a memorial service for Vicky Kaye Carter at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City on Saturday November 9, 2019. The informal service will be held at 1 p.m.
Vicky passed away on August 5, 2019.

William “Billy“ Alvin Worthy Jr. died on Monday, October 21, 2019 at his home in Yazoo City. He was 29 years old. Billy was born in Jackson, MS.
