A Yazoo City police officer accused of using unnecessary force resigned this week.
Chief Ron Sampson said the resignation comes amidst an ongoing investigation surrounding accusations that officers used unnecessary force during response call last month.
The battle with blighted properties has reached a successful marker with a recent grant program awarded to the city of Yazoo City.
Funeral services for Ward 4 Alderman Aubry Brent Jr. will be held Monday, September 30 at the L.T. Miller Community Center on Lamar Avenue.
Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m. and the funeral will begin at 1 p.m.
