City leaders question if director has conflict of interest serving HA and Gateway boards

Following the death of former director Betty Reed, another director of the Gateway Community Development Corporation has been selected with Housing Authority Director Alpresteon Billings assuming the post.

But some are wondering if there is a conflict of interest.








Beverly Ann McMaster

Beverly Ann McMaster passed away on January 31, 2019 at The Arbor in Ridgeland.

 Funeral services were Sunday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Fletcher’s Chapel Cemetery.



Daniel Wesley Powell

Daniel Wesley Powell, 27, of Yazoo City passed away at his home on Friday, February 1, 2019.

Funeral services were Monday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Powell was a sawmill equipment operator and a Baptist.


Charlene Dedwylder Ray

Charlene Dedwylder Ray, 84 passed away Monday, February 04, 2019 at the Nichols Center in Madison after an extended illness. Charlene was born April 1, 1934 in Clarke County, MS to Charles Edgar and Jewel Cooke Dedwylder.
