Deputies were able to take a large amount of drugs off the streets with two recent arrests. 

A traffic stop along Highway 432 led to the discovery of a large amount of cocaine. 

Shawn Mann is well known to Yazoo law enforcement officers with a history of drug-related incidents.

Now Winona authorities are familiar with him as well – probably more familiar than they would like.

Although the Parks and Recreation Department continues to operate within its tight budget, there was some concern over county officials directing how some funds should be spent. 

City leaders made appointments to the Public Service Commission and Parks and Recreation Commission boards last week . 

Marcus Straughter will serve on the Parks and Recreation Board, and Johnny Wilson will serve on the PSC Board.
