Jessie Ray “J.R.” Jones, 89 of Yazoo City died Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at The State Veterans Home in Kosciusko. A U. S. Navy Veteran he was a member and Deacon at Short Creek Baptist Church, and a retired Electrician.


Elizabeth Helms

Her children rise up and call her blessed! Elizabeth Powell Helms born April 11, 1922 passed away on April 15th at the age of 95 at her home in Crystal Springs, MS. For most of her life she was a stay-at-home mom.

Thomas Allen "Tom" Helms

Thomas Allen "Tom" Helms, 67, passed away on April 10 surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Tom unselfishly donated his body to science for further study of heart disease and pancreatic cancer.


Mary Baggett

Mary O’dell Creekmore Stiles Baggett of Sturgis died Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Grenada Living Center. The last surviving offspring of Thomas B. Coleman and Magarie Watkins Creekmore, Mary was born October 30, 1916, in Drew, Mississippi, where she grew up.






David Morgan Cameron

David Morgan Cameron, 61, of the Mechanicsburg community of Yazoo County died Monday, April 3, 2017. 
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 8 at 2 p.m. at Ogden Baptist Church. Rev. Dwight Sibley will officiate.
