Retired Yazoo City business owner Danny Hassin died on March 28 at age 68.
As a second generation owner of Hassin’s on Broadway, Hassin made many friends in Yazoo through his business.
Hassin’s had a reputation for quality clothing and customer service.
His parents, Keleal and Lucille Hassin, first opened the store in 1947. They lived upstairs above the store with their four children until they built a home on Grand Avenue in 1958.
Danny bought the business in 1978. He and his wife continued the tradition, and his mother continued working at the store.
He retired in 2002 and later moved to Flowood.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret; sons, Drew of Jackson and Matthew of Old Saybrook, Connecticut; brothers, Keleal Hassin (Pat) of Gulfport, and Charles Hassin (Molly) of Spring, Texas; sister, Diane Hassin Porter (Jay) of Montgomery, Texas; and grandchildren, Andrew Hassin, Atticus Hassin, and Abigail Hassin of Madison.
Funeral services were Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
