The Board of Directors of the Yazoo County Fair and Civic League Inc., along with Board President Joffre Washington, are pleased to announce that Saturday, August 17, 2019, has been selected as the date of the Oakes Center Annual Banquet.
The Mississippi Achievement School District will hold its monthly meeting next week.
The district, which now includes the city schools, will hold it meeting on July 25 at 8:30 a.m. in Humphreys County at the McNair Middle School library.
Thirty-two high school students from throughout the state, including Jewell Vandevere of Yazoo County, participated in the 2019 Mississippi Soil and Water Conservation Youth Camp, held from June 9-13 at Hinds Community College in Raymond.
Professional volunteer judges from the America in Bloom (AIB) national awards program will visit Yazoo City on June 18.
Yazoo City has been awarded a $300,000 grant by the Environmental Protection Agency for brownfield site revitalization to redevelop vacant and unused properties, transforming communities and improve the local economy.
The Yazoo County Economic Development District will receive $4,500 from Entergy Mississippi for the design of a new website platform that better markets the county’s geographical location, community assets and industrial park businesses.
