YAZOO COUNTY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU is now accepting tourism grant applications for events and projects scheduled for our next fiscal year (Oct. 1, 2013 to Sept. 30, 2014). The deadline to return applications to the CVB is July 31, 2013. Two types of grants are available: Advertising & Promotion or Preservation/Enhancement. GOD’S HOUSE OUTREACH MINISTRY will no longer be televised on Fox 40. Their services with the Rev. E. M. Shinal can now be viewed every Sunday morning on My 35 WLOO at 8:30 a.m. Sunday worship is no longer at 12:30 p.m. but will now be held at 11 a.m. Children’s Church is at 12:30 p.m. every Saturday. NEW COVENANT COMMUNITY CHURCH will hold its Summer Youth Camp on June 20-Aug. 8 from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. for ages 5-18. Ages 5-6 must be accompanied by an older sibling, relative or adult. We are in need of volunteers and students. We are also in need of supplies and lunch foods: paper, pencils, folders with prongs, crayons, tablets, hot dogs and buns, chips, cookies or cakes, lunch bags and drinks. No transportation will be provided to or from the camp.

GIRL SCOUT TROOP #5488 will host a pre-Fourth of July Scary Movie Night at the Boys and Girls Club on July 3 from 6-9 p.m. with free popcorn, drinks and admission for $3.
FIRST LOVE FELLOWSHIP ASSEMBLY will hold a youth fundraiser with a car wash on July 6, beginning at 8 a.m. in Little Yazoo.
AUCTION SALE will be held on July 6 at Gospel Lighthouse PCG in Bentonia, beginning at 5 p.m. Hamburger and hot plates will also be available for a donation.
COMMUNITY M.B. CHURCH will hold an early morning service on July 7 at 11 a.m. The Class of 1973 are scheduled to come and share in the service.
NEW ZION M.B. CHURCH in Vaughan will have a first year pastor’s and wife anniversary service for Rev. Carl Jones and Sis. Lillie Jones on July 7 at 2 p.m. Rev. Willie Smith, pastor of New Zion M.B. Church of Yazoo City and Pleasant Hill M.B. Church of Louise, will be the guest minister.
YAZOO CITY MUNICIPAL SCHOOL DISTRICT will hold its regular scheduled meeting for July 11 instead on July 15 at 5 p.m. in the central office, located at 1133 Calhoun Ave. in Yazoo City.
FRIEND OF GOD WORSHIP CENTER presents Breaking Out Conference on July 13 at the Yazoo City Community Complex at 5:30 p.m. Guest speakers include Pastor G. Tyrone Haggard, Bishop Randy Little, Pastor Edward Williams and Pastor Joe Freeman.

YAZOO COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT announces pre-registration at the individual school sites for the 2013-2014 school year which will be held on July 22-26 from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Parents are required to attend registration. Bring proof of residence. Free and reduced meal applications will be available. New transferring students must bring a copy of their report card, immunization record and birth certificate.
