Whites welcome Briley BreAnne

WhiteWhiteCarrie Barrett and Brian White, of Yazoo City, are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Briley BreAnne White, on November 7, 2012 at Woman's Hospital.
Briley weighed ten pounds and measured 20 and a half inches long.
Maternal grandparents David and Holly Barrett of Bentonia, and Susan Ford of Brandon.
Paternal grandparents Sue White of Yazoo City and Jimmy White of Yazoo City.

 

Martin celebrates first birthday

MartinMartinLathan Edward Martin, son of Jakese and Lucius Martin Jr. of Yazoo City, celebrated his first birthday on Feb. 28, 2013.
He enjoyed his weekend at Chucky Cheese with his family and one sibling, Lucius David Martin.
He is the grandson of Linda Hawkins, Jacob Sheriff, and Lucius Martin Sr., all of Yazoo City , as well as Linda Martin of Bentonia. He is also the grandson of Robert Hawkins and Mary Green, both of Yazoo City .

 

Byrd shares forestry facts with Four Seasons Garden Club

George Byrd, with the Mississippi Forest Service, recently spoke to the Four Seasons Garden about the benefits of trees and other forestry facts. The club met in the home of host Mary Kay Phillips. Decorated with a Mardi Gras theme, refreshments and dessert were enjoyed by club members. Pictured from left are co-hostess Jamie Patterson, Phillips, co-hostess Imogene Erickson and Byrd. Miss Jackson to wed Barrett on April 6

Miss Kimberly Jackson and Nicholas BarrettMiss Kimberly Jackson and Nicholas BarrettMr. and Mrs. Thomas William Jackson of Benton announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kimberly Michelle Jackson, to Nicholas Paul Barrett, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Michael Barrett of Gulf Breeze, Fla. and Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Milne Gething of Bradenton , Fla.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Louise Jackson and the late Mr. William Jackson of Bentonia and Mr. Moody White and the late Mrs. Catherine White of Yazoo City .
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Barrett of Brandon and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Johnson of Decatur .
Miss Jackson is a 2009 graduate of Manchester Academy in Yazoo City . She earned an Associate Degree of Nursing in 2012 from Hinds Community College . She was a member of the Baptist Student Union and the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and also received the Who’s Who Among Students honor.
She is currently employed at St. Dominic Hospital as a registered nurse.
Mr. Barrett graduated from University Christian in Flowood with honors in 2009.  He attended Mississippi State University . He is currently employed at Pennington and Trim Alarm Services.
The couple will exchange vows at 4 o’clock in the afternoon on Apr. 6, 2013 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Benton. Bro. David White, pastor of Black Jack Baptist Church , will officiate the double ring ceremony.  
A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
All relatives and friends are invited to attend the wedding and the reception.

Anna Shelby Johston recently won the 7th grade division at the MAIS District Spelling Bee.
