A’Londia Jones born on July 25

Persheria Jones, of Yazoo City, is proud to announce the birth of her daughter, A’Londia Jones on July 25, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Maternal grandparents are Willie and Bertha Jones of Yazoo City.

 

Chloe Elaine Allen born on Aug. 7

David Lee Allen Jr. and Ashley Danielle Crosby are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Chloe Elaine Allen,  on August 7, 2012 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Chloe weighed five pounds, 14 ounces and measured 18 and a fourth inches long.
Maternal grandparents are Melody Crosby and James Beard.  
Paternal grandparents are David Allen Sr. and Sherry Hern and Darrell Hern.  
Also welcoming baby Chloe are big sister, Nicole Grace Crosby and big brother Joseph Mitchell Denton. 

 

Actor to perform at Mt. Olivet UMC

John Maxwell, an award-winning playwright and touring actor will be performing at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church on Aug. 25 at 7p.m.
Mr. Maxwell will be performing The Prodigal, one of his most recent religious monologues.
These one-man shows bring Biblical characters to life using drama and humor that remains true to the source material. Mr. Maxwell has performed numerous one-man plays including his award winning Oh, Mr. Faulkner, Do You Write?, which he has performed in 12 foreign countries.

Mount Olivet UMC is sponsoring the performance, which is open to the public.
The church is located at 3785 Hwy 433 West in Bentonia.

O’Neal to wed Mosley on Sept. 8

Sharon O’Neal and Corey MosleySharon O’Neal and Corey MosleySharon O’Neal and Corey N. Mosley are pleased to announce their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Jessie and Theresa Fry and James R Davis of Fayette.
She is a graduate of Hinds Community College and Holmes Community College. She is employed at Nissan in Canton as a MINACT GK coordinator and ISO coordinator.
The groom-to-be is the son of the late Nathan Mosley and Linda Mosley.
He is a graduate of Yazoo County High School. He is employed with the city of Yazoo City as communication specialist.
The couple will exchange vows on September 8, 2012 at New Zion annex building in Yazoo City at 4 p.m.
All family and friends are invited to attend.

 

Shamar Sawyer joins NSHSS

The National Society of High School Scholars recently selected Shamar Sawyer to become a member after participating in the Global Young Leaders State Conference.  
NSHSS was founded by Mr. Claes Nobel, whose family established the world-renowned Nobel Prizes that reward individuals and organizations for world betterment. NSHSS also provides members with a variety of opportunities and resources, including access to scholarships leaderships development programs, service activities, and exclusive discounts. NSHSS has awarded over $1,000,000 in scholarships, with over $300,000 to be awarded this academic year.
Sawyer will also have the opportunity to apply to participate in one of the group’s newest programs to become an NSHSS Ambassador. The NSHSS Ambassadors are eligible to compete for additional scholarships awarded by NSHSS.
Sawyer is the son of Carolyn Anderson of Benton and Leroy Sawyer of Vaughan.
