Miss Helton to wed Jackson on Sept. 29

Miss Elysia Nicole Helton and Ramon Jordan Jackson IIIMiss Elysia Nicole Helton and Ramon Jordan Jackson IIIMr. and Mrs. A.G. Helton Sr. of Yazoo City announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Elysia Nicole Helton, to Ramon Jordan Jackson III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jackson Jr. of Gulfport.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kennith Helton of Yazoo City and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Eichelberger Sr. of Morton.
She is a graduate of Manchester Academy in Yazoo City. She attended Mississippi College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, graduating cum laude. She also attended Samford University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design, graduating cum laude.
She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority at Samford University and is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.
She is currently employed as a registered nurse at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ramon Jackson Sr. of Kosciusko, Mrs. Margery Meriwether Milhas of Long Beach and the late Mr. Fernand John Milhas Jr.
He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering. He also attended Mississippi College, where he earned a Master of Science in Biology, Medical Sciences.
He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity at Southern Mississippi. He was also a member of the Biological Honor Society and the Alpha Epsilon Delta Honor Society at Mississippi College.
He is currently employed at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
The couple will be married on September 29, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Yazoo City.
Rev. David Bryant, pastor of First Baptist Church of Yazoo City, and Dr. Doug Broome, former pastor of First Baptist Church in Yazoo City, will officiate the double ring ceremony.
A reception will follow at the home of the bride.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend.

 

Aubree Walton debuts

Mike Walton and April Ketchum of Yazoo City are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Aubree Paige Walton, on August 22, 2012 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Aubree weighed seven pounds, nine ounces and measured 20 inches long.
Maternal grandparents are Butch and Kim Ketchum.
Paternal grandparents are Bo and Betty Walton.
Also welcoming the new arrival is big sister Makenzie Hancock.


 

Mason Matthews debuts

Tremansky and Amy Jo Matthews of Benton are delighted to announce the birth of their son, Mason Caleb Matthews born on August 10, 2012 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.  
Mason weighed two sounds and four ounces.  
Maternal grandparents are Tommy and JoLynn Twiner.
Paternal grandparents are Doris Matthews and Willie Maples.  


 

Benefit for Jimmy Boatner to be held Sept. 29 in Yazoo

A benefit for Jimmy Boatner will be held on Sept. 29 at the Wardell Leach Complex, beginning at 8 a.m.
The co-ed softball tournament will begin at 8a.m. and grilled chicken lunch plates will be sold from 11a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

All proceeds go towards Jimmy’s upcoming kidney transplant.

 

Girls donate gifts to Blair E. Batson

Simmons Bradshaw and Rivers Wells recently donated their birthday toys and other presents to the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital for the second year in a row. The donations grew in size this year, and the two girls hope to donate to the hospital every year. Both girls also created shirts honoring the second annual Toy Drive and gave them away as party favors during their birthday celebrations. Both families extend thanks to everyone who donated to the cause. Simmons is the daughter of Dan and Melissa Bradshaw. Rivers is the daughter of Brad Wells and J.D. and Tonya Cresswell.
