Miss Aldridge to wed Ashley

Miss Kayla Aldridge and D.L. Ashley IIIMiss Kayla Aldridge and D.L. Ashley IIIKayla LeAnne Aldridge and D.L. Ashley III will be united in marriage on October 6, 2012 at 5 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Canton.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Patricia and the late John “B.A.” Aldridge of Bentonia.
Miss Aldridge is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garett Harris of Brandon and Ms. Shelby Littlejohn of Yazoo City.
She attended Benton Academy and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Mississippi University for Women.
She is a registered nurse in the emergency room at King’s Daughters Hospital.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Candace Ashley of Yazoo City and Mr. and Mrs. David Ashley of Brandon.
He is the grandson of the late R.E. Bennett of Fruitdale, Ala. and the late Wauneta Carpenter of Lucedale.
He attended Manchester Academy and earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Mississippi State University.
He is a civil engineer with the Mississippi Department of Transportation.
Rev. David Bryant, pastor of First Baptist Church in Yazoo City, will officiate the double ring ceremony.
A reception will follow at the Jiggett House.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
After their honeymoon, the couple will reside in Yazoo City.

 

Collins turns nine

CollinsCollinsEdriella Collins, daughter of Edward Collins and Ethel Swan, celebrated her ninth birthday on September 17, 2012.  
She will celebrate her birthday today, September 22 at 4 p.m. at the home of Edward and Carolyn Collins, along with her family and friends.

 

YCHS JROTC to participate in parade

The Yazoo City High School JROTC Department Drill Team aims to participate in the Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans.
In order for the department to participate in the parade, the students have to raise funds for their travel expenses. Their goal for the trip is $700.
The students request any assistance and donations from the community so that they may travel to the parade, representing Yazoo City.
The students will also be conducting several fundraisers within the community over the next few months. They plan to work on lawns and any other housework duties.
To hire the JROTC Department for lawn or house work or to make a donation, call Quincy Parker at 571-0156, Stephen Diew at 590-6434 or Kieran Warren at 579-6664.
The JROTC Department would like to thank the community for its support.  

 

Miss Sudbeck to wed Shute on Sept. 29

Miss Amber Sudbeck and Ryan ShuteMiss Amber Sudbeck and Ryan ShuteAmber Lynn Sudbeck and Ryan DeWitt Shute will be united in marriage on September 29, 2012 at 6 p.m. at the Benton United Methodist Church.
Miss Sudbeck is the daughter of the late James Henry Sudbeck and Fay McFarland Sudbeck of Bentonia.
She is the granddaughter of the late Hubert “Red” McFarland and the late Velda McFarland of Sharon and the late James Burks Sudbeck and the late Marie Porch Sudbeck Guthrie of Benton.
She is a 1999 graduate of Yazoo County High School and a 2002 graduate of Holmes Community College.
She is a veterinary technician at the Banfield Pet Hospital. She is also the front office assistant at Newsouth NeuroSpine Physical Therapy.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. Bill and Corrine Johnson of Morton and Mr. John Shute of Blackhawk.
He is the grandson of the late Iris and Willton Jacks  of Winona, the late John Shelton Shute and the late Sara Shute of Winona.
He is a 2001 graduate of Winona High School.
He is a forklift mechanic with Burke Handling Systems in Richland.
Dr Roger McGrew, pastor of Hamilton United Methodist Church, will be officiating the double ring ceremony.
A reception will follow at the Benton Country Club.
Invitations are being sent  but friends and family are invited to attend.  

 

Miss Roberts to wed Conston on Dec. 14

Miss Toya Roberts and Darian ConstonMiss Toya Roberts and Darian ConstonMr. Clidell and Dr. Marcia Conston of Charlotte, N.C. announce the engagement of their son, Darian Levar Conston, to Toya Roberts, daughter of Mr. Thaddeus and Mrs. Merlinda Roberts of Abilene, Texas.
Darian is the paternal grandson of the late Mr. David and Mrs. Allene Conston of Yazoo City. His maternal grandmother is the late Mrs. Mary Lyles Sherman, also of Yazoo City. He is the nephew of Ms. Vanassa Conston of Yazoo City.
The future bride is a graduate student and teaching professional at the University of Houston pursuing a Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Psychology. She will graduate in the summer of 2013.
The future groom earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehouse College and a Juris Doctorate from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas. He is Partner and founding CEO of Conston, Hardmon & Sankey law firm in Houston, Texas.  
The couple has planned an intimate wedding ceremony for December 14, 2012 in Houston.  
Mr. David Antwan Conston of Yazoo City will serve as the Best Man, and Ms. Abeni Brooks of Abilene, Texas will serve as the Maid of Honor.  
The couple will reside in Houston, Texas.
