Miss Duncan to wed Burnham

Miss Claire Duncan and Sammy BurnhamMiss Claire Duncan and Sammy BurnhamMr and Mrs. Truett Duncan Jr. of Yazoo City are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Claire Duncan, to Samuel “Sammy” Ray Burnham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Burnham of Sunflower.
The bride elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Watson of Yazoo City, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Truett Duncan Sr.
Miss Duncan is a 2005 graduate of Manchester Academy, as well as a Mississippi Delta Community College graduate, where she earned her A.A.S. in Dental Hygiene. She is currently a Dental Hygienist at Family Dentistry in Yazoo City.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Beverly King of Yazoo City, the late Mr. A.S. King, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ray Burnham.
Mr. Burnham is a 2006 graduate of Indianola Academy, as well as a Mississippi Delta Community College graduate, where he earned his A.A.S. in Industrial Electricity. He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society while at MDCC. He is currently employed in Maintenance at CF Industries in Yazoo City.
The couple will exchange vows on May 18, 2013 at First United Methodist Church.  Rev. Bill Poole and Rev. Pamela Cameron will officiate the double-ring ceremony.  
A reception will follow at Yazoo Country Club, where all friends and relatives of the couple are welcome to attend.

 

Local scouts reach cookie goal

Girl Scout Troop #6104 met their goal for selling girl scout cookies this year. Altogether the troop sold 1,284 boxes of cookies. Top seller in the troop was Nikeria Parker who sold 341 boxes of cookies. Pope celebrates third birthday

PopePopeK’Brianna K. Pope, daughter of Annie Rance of Yazoo City, celebrated her third birthday on Jan. 1, 2013.  
She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jessie Thomas of Yazoo City and the late Oscar Thomas.
K’Brianna enjoyed a party themed “Minnie Mouse” at New King Soloman Fellowship Hall with family and friends.  
She attends WeeCare Day Care.

 

Ericksons welcome Hadley

Perry and Kayla Erickson of Madison are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Hadley Renee Erickson, on April 8, 2013 at Woman’s Hospital.
Hadley weighed seven pounds, nine ounces, and measured 18 and three fourth inches long.
Maternal grandparents are Jeff and Diane Anthony of Brandon.
Paternal grandparents are Michael and Barbara Erickson of Yazoo City.

 

Miss Allen to wed Weiand

Miss Bree Allen and Jonathan WeiandMiss Bree Allen and Jonathan WeiandMr. and Mrs. Wayne Allen Jr. of Yazoo City proudly announce the engagement and forth coming marriage of their daughter, Bree Ainslie Allen, to Jonathan Reed Weiand, son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Weiand of Clinton.  
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Cerda of Yazoo City and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Allen Sr. of Yazoo City.  
Miss Allen graduated from Manchester Academy in 2009 and is currently attending Holmes Community College to further her education in nursing.  
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Weiand.  
He is a 2009 graduate of Manchester Academy. He is employed at Weiand Plumbing in Clinton.
The couple will be married on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Parkview Church of God. Rev. Ken Lynch of Parkview Church of God will officiate the double ring ceremony.  
A reception will follow at the fellowship hall of Parkview Church of God.  
Family and friends are welcome.
