Quincy Jones Jr. born on April 23

Quincy Cornelius Jones and Alicia Angelique Camper are proud to announce the birth of their son, Quincy Cornelius Jones, Jr., on April 23, 2013 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Quincy weighed seven pounds, eleven ounces, and measured 19 inches long.
Maternal grandparents are Willie Rush and Thelma Jones.
Paternal grandparents are Willie Jones and the late Brenda Jones.
Also welcoming the new arrival are his siblings, Jaylyn McElroy and Julian Camper.

Howell’s Gospel Songfest to be held on May 18 in Yazoo City

Friends of Grady Howell will host “Howell’s Gospel Songfest” on May 18 from noon until 8 p.m.
This event will take place at Howell’s Gospel Music Barn, formerly Howell’s Catfish Restaurant. Spaghetti plates  for $7 will be served from noon until 2 p.m., and sandwich plates for $5 will be served from 2-8 p.m.
A 32” television will be raffled with tickets for $5.
There will also be a cake auction. Many singers and musicians from all over Mississippi will be participating.  Featured guests will be Terry and Debra Luna and New Genesis.

Miss Thomas to wed Hogan on July 27

Miss Lekisha Thomas and Eddrick HoganMiss Lekisha Thomas and Eddrick HoganFloyd Williams and Bertha Thomas of Yazoo City are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lekisha Thomas, to Eddrick Hogan, son of Eddie B. Brown and the late Joann Hogan.
The bride elect is the granddaughter of Elnora Williams.
Miss Thomas is a Yazoo City High School graduate. She is currently a CNA at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Minnie Brown.
Mr. Hogan is a graduate of S.V. Marshall High School.  He is currently a Supervisor at Simmons Catfish in Humphreys County.
The couple will exchange vows on July 27, 2013 at Morning Star Baptist Church.  
Rev. Carl Jones will officiate the single ring ceremony.  
A reception will follow at Elim’s Venue Photography at the corner of Main Street in Yazoo City.  
All friends and relatives of the couple are welcome to attend.

 

Miss Peaster to wed Irving

Miss Sarah Grafton PeasterMiss Sarah Grafton PeasterMr. and Mrs. James R. Peaster IV of Yazoo City are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Grafton Peaster, to David Thomas Irving, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Donald Irving of Jackson.
The bride elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Peaster III, Mr. Frank Soldevila and the late Mrs. JoAnn Soldevila.
Miss Peaster is a 2007 graduate of Manchester Academy, a 2011 graduate of Belhaven University and is expected to graduate from Louisiana State University this year with an M.A. in Art History. She currently has her B.A. in Visual Art.  While at Belhaven University, she was a member of Magna Cum Laude.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Warren Harvie, and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald Louis Irving.
Mr. Irving is a 2007 graduate of Memorial High School, a 2011 graduate of Dartmouth College and is expected to graduate from Reformed Theological Seminary in 2015.  He currently has a B.A. in History.  While at Dartmouth he was Track and Field Captain.  Mr. Irving is currently a Pastoral Intern at the Raymond Presbyterian Church.
The couple will exchange vows on June 1, 2013 at the Chapel at the Emmaus Retreat Center in Satartia.  Rev. David Gilbert will officiate the double ring ceremony.  
A reception will follow at Yazoo City Country Club.
