Mr. and Mrs. Mark Reeves wed

Mr. and Mrs. Mark ReevesMr. and Mrs. Mark ReevesMs. Teresa Lloyd and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Lloyd of Yazoo City would like to announce the marriage of their daughter, Tiffany Lloyd,  to Mark Reeves.    
Mark is a 2000 graduate of Canton Academy. His parents are Ms. Sandra Reeves and Mr. Charles David Reeves of Farmhaven in Madison county.   
Mark and Tiffany both work in Yazoo City for Medstat ambulance service. Mark is paramedic supervisor, and Tiffany works as an EMT.  
The couple was married in Las Vegas on November 4, 2012.
They had a reception at their home in Madison on November 9 with family and friends.

 

Logan Leese born on Dec. 18

Virginia Ann McCurdy and Christopher Allan Leese are proud to announce the birth of their son, Logan Mack Webster Leese, on Dec. 18, 2012 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.  
Logan weighed eight pounds, nine ounces and measured 20 ¼ inches long.
Maternal grandparents are Debra Bennett and Henry McCurdy Jr.  
Paternal grandparents are Wanda Pitcher, Allen Pitcher and Allan Leese.
Great grandparents are Virginia Smith, Nathan Bennett, Martha Leese and the late Grady Leese. 

 

Trimm celebrates second birthday

TrimmTrimmMorgan Sheniece Trimm celebrated her second birthday at Baskin-Robbins on Dec. 22 with friends and Family.
Her theme was Princess and the Frog.
After her party, she invited her guests back to her home for cake and ice cream.
She is the daughter of Marshondra Elizabeth Trimm and Gabriel Jamal Garner.
Morgan is the granddaughter of Harold B. Simmons, Sheila Trimm-Young, Preston Bell and Phillip and Shondra Matthews.

 

Locals earn MC honors

Mississippi College held fall commencement on Dec. 14. More than 400 students received diplomas during the three exercises held on campus.
Local students earning degrees are Thurman Jamayl Robertson, M.S., Stacy Ann Nott, M.A., Mary Ann Jenkins Sartin, B.S.Ed., magna cum laude, all of Benton; Gloria Jean Lewis Washington, Ed.S., of Yazoo City; and  Shonda Maria Henderson, Ed.S., of Louise.

The Benton Garden Club met on Dec. 1 at the Benton Methodist Fellowship Hall.  
The room was beautifully decorated with poinsettias. Everyone enjoyed Christmas goodies, and then a plant swap.  
All had fun and enjoyed the festive atmosphere and conversation, and getting to take a plant home for the holidays.  
Hostesses for the meeting were Woo Woo Ruschewski and Linda Cobb.
