Local sorority members provide lunch

In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Holiday, members of Upsilon Upsilon Omega chapter of Canton participated in a service project providing lunch service for members of the Canton community at “Our Daily Bread” shelter. Dr. Georgia Ingram and Ms. Brittney Bullock of Yazoo City are members of the chapter. Ruschewski earns district Teacher of the Year

Woodson L. Ruschewski was selected as the Yazoo County School District Teacher of the Year and the Yazoo County High School Teacher of the Year.
Ruschewski graduated from Holmes Community College with an Associate Arts Degree in 1981 and also graduated from Delta State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education in 1983.
She has taught at Bearden Middle School in Knoxville, Tenn., Benton Academy, Yazoo City High School and Yazoo County High School, where she currently teaches Algebra 1 and Advanced Placement Calculus.
Ruschewski received the Star Teacher Award at Benton Academy in 1989 and also at Yazoo County High School in 2002.  
She is a member of Mississippi Professional Educators, Benton Methodist Church and the Benton Garden Club.
She is married to Bruce Ruschewski, and has two children: Bennett, 22, and Bruce Ellis, 13.
Her hobbies include cooking, spending time with her sisters, and vacationing at the beach with her family.

 

Neal turns 5

NealNealKy’Eishia Neal, daughter of Antares R. Pearson and Felicia M. Neal of Yazoo City, celebrated her fifth birthday on Feb. 15.
She is the granddaughter of Rosie B., Arthur L. Neal Sr and Angela Berry. 

 

Miss Holman to wed Bush on March 9

Miss Elizabeth HolmanMiss Elizabeth HolmanMr. and Mrs. George Holman of Madison announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth, of Madison, to Berkeley Bush, of Montgomery, Ala.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bush, formerly of Yazoo City.  
Their wedding will be Saturday, March 9, at 3:00 in the afternoon at Highlands Presbyterian church in Ridgeland.
All friends are warmly invited to join this celebration.
