Townsend earns two degrees

Carl and Christine T. Bunch and Simeon Townsend are proud to announce the graduation of their daughter, Ebony Symone Townsend, from the University of Georgia on May 10, 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
Ebony plans to continue her education by attending graduate school in the field of Epidemiology after she completes a summer internship at the Center of Disease Control in Atlanta.

Focus on the Children honors Ward

Focus on the Children will hold an appreciation banquet for Eugene Ward with the publication of his new book, The Principal of the Matter. The banquet will be held at The Yazoo Community Complex on May 25 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 a plate. Guest speaker will also include Hermand Bennette Jr., a local poet and writer. Miss McAdams to wed Hilderbrand

Miss Shannon McAdams and Allen HilderbrandMiss Shannon McAdams and Allen HilderbrandSue and Pete Goode and the late Jack McAdams of Bentonia are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Shannon Dell McAdams, to George Allen Hilderbrand, son of Opal Hilderbrand and the late George Hilderbrand Sr. of Bentonia.
The bride elect is the granddaughter of the late Jack and Daisy McAdams of Quitman and the late Levi and Leona Twiner of Bentonia.
Miss McAdams is a graduate of Yazoo County High School. She is currently a Personal Caregiver.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Elora Hilderbrand and the late Bernice Hilderbrand of Bentonia and the late Shell and Eula Counts of Yazoo City.
Mr. Hilderbrand graduated from Yazoo County High School. He is currently employed at Burns Cooley Dennis Inc.
The couple will exchange vows July 6, 2013 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Bentonia. Rev. Nathan Carroll will officiate the double ring ceremony.
A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of Mt. Olivet UMC.  
All friends and relatives of the couple are welcome to attend.

 

Soyars wins Most Photogenic Award

Shelby Soyars of Yazoo City recently participated in the Holmes Community College Parade of Beauties. She was chosen as a beauty and also won the Most Photogenic Award.
